Welcome Homeschool Families!

GETTING STARTED
For those of you who are new to homeschooling here is a link to more information.

Some other organizations that may of help include:
WPA:
Families in Chippewa County that are transitioning to a Homeschool education may find additional guidance with the Wisconsin Parents Association Region 3 Reps, Barbara & David Duerkop. Ph#(715) 334-3583.
CHEA: Wisconsin Christian Home Educators Association is a non-profit (501c3) ministry dedicated to serving  ALL home educators in the state of Wisconsin.
HSLDA: Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms.
MACHE: Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators is a statewide organization for parents who have chosen to home educate. MÂCHÉ serves Minnesota home educators year round, endeavoring to provide them with information and to act as an effective vehicle to facilitate and safeguard the Christian home education opportunity in Minnesota.Their annual conference takes place in April. We have heard from our Home School families that use the library, that many families in western WI have chosen to join this large group as as an additional resource.

MATERIALS
We also have a dedicated collection of materials for homeschool families. This collection is comprised of DVDs, kits, and books. Due to budgetary restrictions we have only a few curriculums.

KITS
Did you know that we have several types of Homeschool kits available for check-out? Below is a chart of the most popular kits. The * means that the kits are on a first come, first serve, basis meaning-no holds may be placed. The homeschool kits are housed in a back room. Call us if you want us to set one aside for you. This can only be done for same day pick-ups. The Homeschool kits also need to be checked out & returned at the Chippewa Library.

We also have resource kits which can be checked out by anyone in the MORE system. The majority of the Resource Kits are housed in the purple file drawer in the children's dept. Some items are across from the cabinet on the shelves below the Homeschool collection. These kits may be checked out, or returned to any library in the MORE system. Holds may be placed on these kits.  Ask a librarian for more information.Call 715-723-1146.

If you have suggestions for items you'd like to see purchased in our homeschool collection, please click here to give us that feedback. The wonderful collection, currently in place, is due to your ongoing feedback.
