Patron Initiated Interlibrary Loan

What You Do to Request an Interlibrary Loan on-line

  • Check the MORE catalog for an entry for the item you want.  If a MORE library owns your item, click on "Request item" and fill out the patron information.  Submit.  You will not need to request an interlibrary loan.

  • If the MORE catalog does not have an entry for your item, search the statewide library catalog from the Chippewa Falls Public Library website. Click the WISCAT button, here or on the  homepage              

  • If WISCAT has an entry for your item, click on "Request this item"

  • Fill out the patron information on the request form: your first and last name, library barcode, and phone number. In the notes field, list specific information about the item such as abridged or unabridged book on CD, DVD, VHS, tape....

What Chippewa Falls Public Library Does

  • Staff will review requests and authorize a few requests per patron per week to be sent to a library outside the MORE system. 

  • The library that owns the item will send it to Chippewa.

  • The Chippewa Falls Public Library will notify you by phone, mail or e-mail when the requested item has been received and is ready for you to pick up at the Check Out Desk.

How to Check on the Status of an Interlibrary Loan

  • Ask the librarian at the Information Desk.

  • The Information Desk has instructions for checking the status of patron-initiated interlibrary loans from home.
