Children & their parents are encouraged to join us from 10:30- 11. Children with a developmental age of 3 - 7 are encourages to join us for our sensory storytime. This program is geared to children with sensory issues or children on the autism spectrum.

 

We have sensory toys, cushions, a tent and a beanbag chair to make your child's storytime experience feel good.

6/18/2013 11:30 AM FROG GUY-Randy Korb

Randy Korb, a naturalist from St. Croix Falls, and his frogs will be here at the library today at 11:30am & 1:30pm

We have 2 shows scheduled.

The Very Young: 11:30am show will be for children ages  4 - 6 or those who have not yet finished kindergarten. This show is only for children who are signed up in the Wee Readers group of our summer reading program, or fit the age range. Talk to the librarian for more info. This is a free family event that will be held in the library's large meeting room. You must have a ticket to attend this event. Ask a children's librarian for more info. Children will have an opportunity to touch or hold a frog. So only brave children who are ready to interact with frogs are encouraged to attend this program, because of our limited meeting room space.

Kids: The 2nd show is at 1:30pm & is geared to school-age children ages 6 and up who have completed kindergarten or higher grades. This show will be in the basement of City Hall. This is a free family event. Daycares with children ages 6 and up will be welcomed. We are limited in space by the posted room capacity. If space is still available at the time the show is ready to begin, younger daycare groups will be granted entry.

6/18/2013 1:30 PM Randy Korb - Frog Guy

This afternoon showing of naturalist Randy Korb & his frogs is geared to school-age children ages 6 and up who have completed kindergarten or higher grades. This show will be in the basement of city hall.

This is a free family event and all are welcome to attend, but the program will be geared to children who are older. Young children ages 6 & under (who have not yet entered Kindergarten) are invited to attend the morning session which will be held at the library.  Younger children who attend the afternoon session may not have an opportunity to touch the frogs so please come to the morning session if you want to experience the frogs in a smaller group setting.

Note: You must be registered in the summer reading program to attend the am session.
Register in-person in the children's dept of the library.

Children ages 3 - 6 or those who have not yet entered kindergarten are invited to attend this hour of circle-themed art. There will be some process art avtivities as well as guided art activities. There is no need to register for this drop-in program.

Kids who have completed grades kindergarten and up are encouraged to join us for a few art projects. We will have several stations where children can complete process or guided art activities geared to their skill levels.

Children may not need the entire time allotted to finish their activities.

Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accommodated.

7/11/2013 12:00 PM Rocks & Gems Crafts & Evening Talk

The Eau Claire Rock & Gem Society will be on hand to do rock crafts with kids from 12-2, 3-5 and 6-8pm. There will be several stations with fun activities for children to learn about rocks or do experiment with rock art.

In the evening Paul Nelson will be on hand to discuss some aspect of rocks with adults. The exact topic is still being ironed out. Stay tuned for more details.

Calling Ninja warrior wannabes. Do you like the ninja warriors Kai, Zane, Cole, Jay & Sensei-Wu?

Discuss your favorite characters and books with friends. We will also do some activities to test your knowledge of all your favorite Ninjago warriors.

A random drawing will be held for 2 Ninjago books.
You must be present to win.
