Computers for Your Use

The library provides several computers to connect to the World Wide Web and for word processing. Use of the computer is free to the public, although printouts cost 10 cents per page. Color printing is available for $1.00 per page.  Computer usage is allotted in one hour time blocks. Patrons may use a computer up to two hours per day..

All five computer stations in the Main Reading Room are IBM-compatible and have Internet access and Microsoft Office. They all have CD burners for patrons to use.  There is an Express e-mail computer which requires no sign-up and may be used for 15 minutes to quickly check one's e-mail.  A scanner is available for use at no charge.  In addition, there are two computers in the Children's Room with word processing and Internet capability.

Sign up for computer usage is done with a valid library card at the computers.  If all computers are in use, a reservation can be made on the Pharos Signup Station.  Computers can be reserved ahead of time by coming in to the Library and using the Signup Station.  Telephone reservations can no loger be made.

The Chippewa Falls Public Library has established an Internet Policy and Guidelines. Anyone accessing the Internet from within the library must agree to the terms of usage.
