Gooder: The Writings of Marty Crowe Selected from Five Decades of His Thoughts on Teaching, Coaching, Humanity, God and Life

Reader: Maureen Slauson, Editor and Daughter

Marty Crowe (1914-1999) spent over 40 years coaching and teaching in Wisconsin and Minnesota high schools. An inductee into both Wisconsin Football and Basketball Coaches Halls of Fame, Marty’s interests went beyond teaching and coaching. He ran for Congress in 1940 and was engaged in politics throughout his life. He acted in Community Theatre in St. Paul and was active in radio in Detroit. While in Eau Claire he had radio shows on WRFW and WEAU. His columns appeared regularly in several state newspapers. With “Gooder” Marty’s daughter, Maureen Slauson, has compiled a selection of his best writing on teaching, coaching, faith, family and humanity.
